Custom Color & Additive Masterbatch
Altera Polymers custom-manufactured thermoplastic materials are categorized in three distinct technologies.
Masterbatches
Altera Polymers produces both color and additive masterbatches. Color concentrates are developed on a custom basis and are formulated to match customer-defined color standards. Color masterbatches are offered for a variety of resins, including TPEs, Polyolefin, Acrylic, and Styrenics, to name a few. These masterbatches can also be formulated to include multiple components, such as stabilizer packages.
Additive masterbatches include UV, AO, Slip, and FR and are also formulated for use in specified let-down resins.
Throughout the development process, Altera Polymers works with our customers in identifying the most suitable carrier resins and additives to be used. In many cases, our masterbatches are collaboratively developed together with our customers, resulting in proprietary products that are engineered exclusively for an individual application.
Elastomers & Specialty Thermoplastics
Altera Polymers manufactures both precolored compounds and custom TPV compounds. The precolored compounds offer precise color matches to defined color standards and incorporate a complete stabilizer package to ensure that all physical properties are met. Precolored products are manufactured in a variety of resins, including TPV, TPU, Olefin, Styrenic, Polycarbonate, Nylon, and Acrylic, to name a few. Furthermore, our products are formulated to comply with specified regulations, including but not limited to FDA, UL, and UV.
Altera Polymers’ range of custom TPV compounds has been developed to offer both the feel and aesthetic of highly engineered, traditionally more expensive compounds while still offering the highest levels of quality. Among the available products recently introduced, Altera Polymers offers:
- 30A TPE with outstanding tear resistance
- 75A, 85A, and 95A TPV compounds that are fully colorable
- TPV compounds offering low COF as a slip-coat
Any of Altera Polymers’ compounds can be formulated for either extrusion or injection molding applications.
Engineering & Polyolefin Resins
Altera Polymers produces filled engineering and polyolefin compounds designed to meet precisely defined physical property requirements. These specifications apply to:
